Genesis 4:1-16

I recently had an incredible moment, call it a revelation call it coincidence some might even call it Biblical poetic prophecy, all i know is that it blew my mind.  It all began during our thursday morning bible study and the Scriptural passage in Genesis chapter 4 verses 1 through 16.  It reads as follows:

Genesis 4 - Cain and Abel

1Now the man had relations with his wife Eve, and she conceived and gave birth to Cain, and she said, “I have gotten a manchild with the help of the LORD.”

2Again, she gave birth to his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of flocks, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.

3So it came about in the course of time that Cain brought an offering to the LORD of the fruit of the ground.

4Abel, on his part also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of their fat portions And the LORD had regard for Abel and for his offering;

5but for Cain and for his offering He had no regard So Cain became very angry and his countenance fell.

6Then the LORD said to Cain, “Why are you angry? And why has your countenance fallen?

7″If you do well, will not your countenance be lifted up? And if you do not do well, sin is crouching at the door; and its desire is for you, but you must master it.”

8Cain told Abel his brother. And it came about when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother and killed him.

9Then the LORD said to Cain, “Where is Abel your brother?” And he said, “I do not know. Am I my brother’s keeper?”

10He said, “What have you done? The voice of your brother’s blood is crying to Me from the ground.

11″Now you are cursed from the ground, which has opened its mouth to receive your brother’s blood from your hand.

12″When you cultivate the ground, it will no longer yield its strength to you; you will be a vagrant and a wanderer on the earth.”

13Cain said to the LORD, “My punishment is too great to bear!

14″Behold, You have driven me this day from the face of the ground; and from Your face I will be hidden, and I will be a vagrant and a wanderer on the earth, and whoever finds me will kill me.”

15So the LORD said to him, “Therefore whoever kills Cain, vengeance will be taken on him sevenfold ” And the LORD appointed a sign for Cain, so that no one finding him would slay him.

16Then Cain went out from the presence of the LORD, and settled in the land of Nod, east of Eden.

Ok when i read that i totally was blown away… maybe you didn’t see what i saw… Let me share.  This passage especially verse 10 has been a mantra for believers concerning the abortion issue and rightfully so. Able representing the innocent victims of homicide deemed legal under the guise of choice and right by way of abortion.  Although this passage does obviously speak of God caring about and acknoladging injustice it speaks much more importantly about the necessity of humanities absolute faith in God upon completely surrendering our self and self-reliance, hence God’s dissatisfaction with Cain’s offering and His rhetorical questions posed to Cain upon receiving the offerings.  Let’s get into the passage.

The thing that stood out to me the first time i read it was the phrase, “it came about in the course of time” (another literal translation says at the end of days).  Of corse this is speaking literally of a specific time way back then but i can’t help but think that the phrase was inspired to be poetically much more significant.  The second time i read the passage what stood out to me is found in verse 2.  ”…but Cain was a tiller of the ground.”  I can’t help but think of the curse after the fall that says now mankind will have to labor and work the ground for food.  But what really hit me in this phrase was the “coincidence” of Cain being deemed by God as a “tiller” and the name of the recently murdered, late-term abortionist, George Tiller.  Mr. Tiller was shot in cold blood while he was supposedly laboring for God as an usher in Reformation Lutheran Church.  Selah. Call me crazy but i simply do not believe in coincidence i believe in providence and i believe that God is speaking to humanity saying get ready the end of days is coming and judgement will begin in the house of God, that isn’t speaking only of true believers but of all confessed believers like George Tiller.  “Then Cain went out from the presence of the Lord.”  Amen.

Fishing License (aka) To kill or not, my choice, my right.

Fishing is not necessarily something that i would say i love doing although i enjoy it. Probably more so for the evoked memories and reminiscent experience rather the the actual practice of ‘tricking and killing’ as Mr. Martin so eloquently phrased it.

As i was preparing to fish in something other than our tiny pond, for the first time in a good while i was reminded that i being older than seventeen must have a fishing license… whatever. So i went to Wal-Mart where they can be obtained, and just as i suspected the theiving, greedy, wicked america showed her true colors… Now you may think i am just really upset about having to pay thirty-five dollars for a ridiculously large piece of paper that has completely make-believe value seeing as this public water belongs just as much to me as it does to the ignorant game warden enforcing the preposterous rules i.e. the fishing license and it’s included restrictions, but that is not it at all. In fact when the kind sir behind the counter told me how much it was i politely turned around and walked away without purchasing one.

The reason behind my righteous indignation is that the supposed ‘christian nation’ that is america puts more value on the life of a fish or a sea turtle, or some freaking salt grass than it does on the invaluable life of an unborn child. So lets get this straight, i can pay the thirty-five dollar fee for a license to kill a fish but of corse only if it is within the proper restrictions. And if i am caught without one of these licenses’ then i am entitled to a citation for violation of the law of the state put in place to protect the right of the fish that is otherwise perfectly legal for me to kill, or better yet even if i have a license and i kill a fish that is under the ‘legal length’ aka to young (ironic i know) as deemed so by our thoughtful authorities or any variety of special species, then i am violating the right of nature via the fish, to properly run it’s corse. But abortion as Mr. Wilson articulately referred to as, “this sick war that adults have declared on children” is completely legal just because it is my so-called choice or right?!? Says who… oh yea the same people who gave me my fishing license.

Oh the wretched state she is in! Know this, the wickedness is not due to or proceeding from a singularly Democratic or Republican party, for the blood of the innocent is very much bipartisan and judgement will come to the unjust where ever they may lie. We the people… must urgently embrace repentance and turn from our wicked ways individually and corporately knowing that judgement will begin in the house of the Lord. Amen.

end of the world as we know it?

Just found an article entitled “‘Fusion Centers’ Expand Criteria to Identify Militia Members” on foxnews.com and thought it was pretty interesting in an alarming kind of way.  I submit to you that it won’t be long before christianity is put on the list of “unsafe” organizations to be monitored and labeled as domestic terrorist and national security threats, and the Bible listed as a book of subversive literature.  But hey, don’t worry Jesus was charged and murdered as a domestic terrorist and a national security threat, guess it can’t be that bad.

Some of you may be thinking i sound more like a conspiracy theorist (which by the way is another criteria for you to be monitored and labeled) but history warns us of the consequences, of the path this nation under god (little “g” for government) is on.  It seems as though my thoughts are being confirmed every which way i turn and the above article is just one small piece.  Everything from america’s economic situation being remedied and insured by communist China, one of the major persecutors of the “evil cult” that is Christianity.  To the age-old debate of the question:  ”Is Christianity Good for the World?”  that is rapidly reemerging, one of which was recently documented with prominent athiest Charles Hitchens and Pastor Douglas Wilson at The King’s College.  These aren’t the only examples all you have to do is read or watch the headlines for 5 minutes and you can see.  We must discern the times we live in.  We the church must understand by a revelation of the Spirit of God that our allegiance is not for one second to a flag, seal or sword, but to Christ the Lamb who was slain and Him alone. When we understand this we will not fear the tribulations that are soon coming to the true body of Christ.  In fact He pointedly told us to expect this very thing because they hated Him first!

Let us go in peace and spread the Gospel to the loveless, to the ones who desire nothing more than to irradiate us from their world.  This is our commission, the ministry of reconciliation.  Let us forsake our fleshly desires to defend our patriotism to a man-made kingdom and surrender our entire selves to the work the Holy Spirit desires to do in us in order for that work to naturally flow out of us. This is my prayer.  Amen.
