Alas, we’ve made progress!

I know, i know, it’s been a while.  Something about being a dad is pulling me away from my other things like writing and even working on our house.  But alas, we have made progress and quite a bit at that—at least since the last time i posted…  We have sheetrock now!

Also, i haven’t mentioned this yet here, but we baptized Ephraim a while back on Sunday, October 2.  We were thrilled to formally welcome him into the covenant.  Enjoy some pics of the place and our boy.

Welcome Ephraim!

Coming right along…

Well, as you have probably guessed, i have been somewhat preoccupied hence my inattention to the blog.  The last three weeks have been an amazing time with our boy, he’s changing so fast.  He’s extremely content and sleeps pretty well for the most part, although he has his nights…

We finally have insulation in.  It is amazing how much the atmosphere inside changed after it was installed.  It turned out to be about a thousand dollars cheaper for us to hire guys instead of us doing it ourself, thanks to Manny.

Enjoy some pics of the boy and the house.

Happy Zeroith Birthday Ephraim!

The time has finally come, he’s here!  Ephraim Alexander Ripple weighing in at 10 pounds and an ounce.  We knew he was going to be big but nobody knew he was going to break the double digit barrier!  He was 21 inches head to toe so for a baby, he was fairly proportionate.  Needless to say, Erin is still waddling and recovering slowly.  He sleeps well and doesn’t cry much, we’re ok with that.

If you’d like to see more pics go here.

Getting ready for insulation!

Here’s what’s been going on with the house.  Electric inside is ready thanks to Terry Richardson and his gang, and we have ducts run upstairs.  We are using ductless units downstairs and in the apartment so those are pretty well ready.  Today a gentleman came out to bid the insulation, i already have a bid from Lowe’s as a base price.  The deal is, if the bid comes back close enough to Lowe’s price, then for sure we are going with it, if not we will be installing insulation ourselves…  We’ll see…

We turned it over and added more wires!

Where the apartment AC will be mounted.

Can't wait till that's all hidden!

Getting all of our ducts in a row...

Looks like we have a giant spider in the attic!

Looking into our bathroom.

This is the only duct downstairs, we also have two ductless units.

In other news, Ephraim is due this Sunday!
