You know what i’ve been thinking a lot about lately? Infant baptism. Have you ever really thought about that topic? If so, i would love to hear some of your thoughts. If not, you should.
If you are interested in doing a little reading on the subject, here are two articles one arguing for by R.C. Sproul and one against by John MacArthur.

No, i am not talking about pastors and evangelist or any believers for that matter. I’m talking about when evil things happen, when bad stuff happens we are all so quick to rebuke the devil and blame it on a fallen world and for some strange reason we, in those times, suddenly forget that God—the creator God, the One the Holy Scriptures speak of— is sovereign. Meaning nothing can get by Him. That means when evil things happen (i.e. captivity, death, destruction), God is ultimately the one from whom it comes.

I guess that’s my point, sometimes God’s tools aren’t exactly what we’d expect from an all good God—and He is ALL GOOD (cf Is. 10, Amos 3:6, Job 2:10). Does an evil tool taint a good, just God? Can God, who is the standard of good and justice even be tainted?
Suppose maybe we should think about these things next time evil things are going down? Suppose maybe instead of instantly rebuking satan or answering evil with neat and seemingly logical answers like, “well you see the earth is cursed, blah blah blah, darkness and cold and heat and light blah blah blah…”, we should just humbly confess our inadequacies and weakness and repent of our inherent foolishness and trust on the preeminent Christ who is our Source?
I suppose we humans tend to forget that water is wet and fire is hot, and God is God and we are not…

Yesterday we were all sitting around on the porch and Ephraim (just so we are all clear, we pronounce it: *Efrum) was majorly rejoicing in his mommy’s belly. We have seen him already moving around plenty in there but yesterday he was dancing like crazy. Ej pulled her shirt up and we could all see him perfectly, so i was thinking, why do we say he is coming and not that he’s already here? Obviously there is more to come, i will soon be able to hold him and kiss him, but in reality, he is already here with us! Reminds me of a similar reality with someone else i know…
So think about this, if Ephraim were to be “born” premature, on July 1st say, that would be his birthday and then next July 1st he would be one year old. But if he comes on his due date, September 19th, then that is his birthday and he wouldn’t be considered a year old until next September 19th. But in both cases he has actually existed for the same amount of time! Don’t you think that is weird? It sounds like we are counting wrong, like we are hinging something objective on something completely subjective or variable (we do that a lot). Ephraim is already here and a part of our family! You may say “well yea but”—and i would say, “get your but out of here!” If we looked at reality objectively—and we can because Truth objectively exists, He is Messiah—i believe we would see this creation and our creator more properly, or more fully. Have you ever just stopped to think about how inconsistently we think and reason? Truth isn’t inconsistent, so why are we?

Well as you can see there has been quite a bit of progress since the last post which is entirely because we hired two guys to get it started in here! And turns out two guys who know what they are doing are actually quite fast… so i pretty much just get out of their way and bring them stuff. I am cool with that for now probably because it is all happening so fast.

Downstairs walls have wood!

Here is our closet door.

The one with glass is our pantry door.
The pantry door used to be in my mom’s house growing up, it was their phone booth door and they were allowed to draw on the inside of it while they were talking on the phone. We are so excited to use it as our pantry door and even leave some of those doodles, and maybe add some ourselves!

Hi Andrea!

All framed upstairs!

Here is a bathroom and a "guest room" or something.

A big bedroom and the nursery.

Master bed and bath.

Inside the master looking to the bathroom and closet.

Big shower all the way to the right.

Here's the closet.

That's where the apartment will be soon.
Hope you enjoyed the tour! Until next time!

This step (framing) has been a slow train coming but we are beginning to pick up momentum, with much thanks to Manny and his crew. It is amazing how fast things can get accomplished when two guys who actually know this trade start working. As you can tell from our last post we did build a wall (upstairs) ourselves but we had to take it back down because we missed some stuff, well turns out we missed a lot of stuff… So like i said, i feel like we are hitting our stride—the slow train is picking up speed, now we are just going to hang on. Enjoy the pics…
The first two here are from a week ago (Monday, May 17th)…

done with this wall!

at least one side...
This is what started happening today, but if you noticed in the last pics that we already had the stringers marked and cut.

They were laughing at how crooked our cuts were...

These walls aren't coming down...again...
We forgot the OSB on the back of the corners as you can see but we decided that we were going to just stiffen these two walls up a different way.

Looks way cooler than before...
So one of the reasons that we didn’t get too much work done this last week is because our friend Ashley came down from St. Louis and we took her to San Antonio and just had a fun week with her here. But yesterday her and Ej got a little bored i guess and wanted to work on the house at 6pm, so we found something for them to do—that they couldn’t easily mess up. We let them seal the windows and floor plates with expanding foam. How did that go you ask? Well, the picture below is of Ej’s first and last window, YoYo took over after that one and finished the windows and to Ej’s credit she did the floor and they actually did a great job. Thanks for that Yo and for being our only St. Louis friend that makes consistent trips down here to see us, you’re the best and we can’t wait till we actually have a guest room for you to be comfortable in!

We like to say that the window threw up.
Moving on to the other building project we have going on, this Sunday marked 23, yes 23 weeks and i have pics of that house too—Ej and child. Just so you know the pic is actually them at 22 weeks.

This is Ej right at 5 months or 22 weeks...
