A good day indeed.

Well happy St. Patrick’s Day to you too…

How many guys does it take to... nah just kidding.

Urban monkey.

3 of 4 roof trusses...

…and setting the last two corner beams.

...and last but not least.

Ej and i are truly blessed, and our constant prayer is that the Father would keep us faithfully satisfied with Him alone.

Thank you Father.

‘Tis bitter sweet as they say.

Good News:

Today they took the forms off, everything looks good.  There is going to be quite a bit of dirt work to do a little later on down the road…i really wish i had a tractor… Ah, well one step at a time, i suppose borrowing one will have to do for now.

doesn't look too different from here

Bad News:

In all, three trees had to come down, two crate myrtles that were older than me, and lastly this guy.  I hate losing trees, for me it’s almost like losing a pet, but alas, we had to remove them.  The other two big ones will have to be trimmed back but i believe we will be able to keep them around.

sad day...

More Good News:

Today i got to walk on the thing so thats pretty cool.

no forms!

What just happened?!?

Yes that’s right i am posting twice in one day… Today’s earlier post was from this morning before any of the laborers arrived and now at the end of the day we basically have all of the plumbing in the slab ready to go… They (the plumbers) will come back out tomorrow morning (Wed, March 3rd) and do a pressure test and tie the line into the septic and then put the plastic back on so the steel guys can set their beams in the trenches.  Then (drum roll please) Thursday morning at 7 am, concrete is scheduled.  Honestly, i can’t really believe it is happening this fast.  My wife says i am a pessimist but i think of myself as more of a realist, she says that must mean she is a dreamer if optimism isn’t reality (she is right next to me saying these things, she kind of has a point but i still don’t totally agree, i think i am pretty optimistic.)  Nonetheless, this is what is happening…and just happened.

All for one and one for all!

Downstairs bathroom.

Do i have to stay in the lines?

Jeff and Caleb's accomplishment...

Rain Rain Go Away…

It has been so stinkin’ wet here and the weather prophets say much more is on the way so the workers are kicking it into high gear and wanting to accomplish much before monday.  We are now ready to plumb this bad boy and put the steel in the trenches… I must confess, when this part is over i will be very, very relieved.

Progress?

Trenched!

Just a little side note, Ej’s in week 12 so these next few weeks (12-14) God will begin “laying the pipes” on our little one, in other words, “it” will become a he or she!
