A gen-u-ine operation!

Ok we went out of town this weekend, so i have a little catching up to do.  Thankfully, lots has been accomplished and we are moving right along at a fairly steady pace.  Enjoy the pics!

Upstairs decking
Much easier than hauling sheet by sheet
All done, now we just need some flatwork!
This isn't an AT&T commercial...
almost looks like a celling
We decided to extend the I beam another 10'...

I sure am glad they are doing this part...
That is a miraculous stack of wood...
...and a lot of it!

Ok so here is the story on the wood.  Our gracious and EXTREMELY generous cousin Ardalia E. Martin and family gave us two bundles of 2×4’s.  They told us to come pick them up and that they were 8′ studs.  With their help, we loaded the trailer by hand and got them safely back to the house where we proceeded to unload and neatly stack them as you can see from the pics.

The downstairs ceilings are 9′ so our intention was to use these 8′ studs for the upstairs and the apartment but since my dad and i don’t exactly know how to frame we were talking with Andrew about how exactly this was going to work out.  In the course of the conversation we got to looking and the dimensions weren’t stamped on the lumber as apparently they usually are, so we measured them to make sure they were stud length and not a full 8′ and much to our surprise, these two bundles are all 9′ studs!  This means that we aren’t going to have to buy any 2×4 studs and the upstairs and apartment are going to have 9′ ceilings because that is now the most efficient way to go!!!  Thanks be to God for His infinite wisdom and mercy and to Ardalia and family for their unending generosity!
