We will be singing a new song this Lord’s Day. In the video below you will not only hear the song, Though You Slay Me; as an interlude, you will hear an excerpt of a sermon by John Piper entitled “Do Not Lose Heart“.
The name of this song is taken from Job 13:15, “Though He slay me, I will hope in Him.” The theological skeleton beneath this song may seem odd, unfamiliar, or even incorrect to some, if not many Christians today. But this is nothing new or novel. All throughout the scriptures we are shown, and spoken to by a God who is sovereign, who lovingly works all things (literally all things) for good and for glory. A God who gives and takes away; who through it all, is good and faithful and supremely worthy.
