\"Psalm<\/a><\/p>\n

Someone once said, worship isn’t music just like love isn’t kissing but where there is worship, there will be singing just like where there is love, there will be kissing. Music is a means. Our songs are avenues to express the beauty and awe and wonder and majesty of who God is and what He has done\u2014the grand reality of Christ in us, the Hope of glory.<\/span><\/p>\n

Singing our songs as an act of true worship, is a way of moving the truth<\/span>\u00a0of the Gospel from our heads to our hearts. It is \u00a0life-giving and joy-imparting.\u00a0Paul says that we are to address one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with our hearts (Eph. 5:19).<\/span>This is a joy!\u00a0This is the goal of music in our gatherings: the saints with full, overflowing hearts, singing as one; worshipping in Spirit and Truth.<\/span><\/p>\n

To worship in Spirit and Truth isn\u2019t a formula or recipe for a \u201creally good\u201d worship gathering. We are\u00a0<\/span>in<\/em>\u00a0the Spirit and Christ\u00a0<\/span>is<\/em>\u00a0the Truth. Christ in us is the fragrance of worship whether we’re singing or sleeping. It is not as much about a willful choice as it is about Christ our life and the fruit that we bear. It is about God glorifying His Son in His Church.<\/span><\/p>\n

Think about this when you catch yourself mumbling mindlessly through the words. Approach our worship gathering with expectations to hear and see and taste and smell the goodness of God. Make it a point to prepare yourself and your family. Make it a point to be on time, to sing lustily and with good courage. Make it a point to be infectious, a singing disciple who leads aimless wanderers to the Wellspring of Desire.<\/p>\n
