Songs We Sing (8/27/23)

Here are our songs for this Lord’s Day:

In the coming weeks, we will begin learning a song called “Ye Choirs of New Jerusalem” (536 in the Cantus Christi 2020). Listen to each part and try to sing along a bit with each one and pick out the one that is most comfortable for you to sing.

Once you have your part picked out, this is what I suggest you do, first, slow the tempo down and clap along with your part while following the music. Don’t try and sing, just clap. Do that until you can easily clap along with your part without making any mistakes. After you have the rhythm, then you can try to start singing along in earnest.

In the beginning, you may just want to stick with singing the first two verses since those are the only ones written out with the notes. Another thing you may find helpful may be to print out the music and highlight the part you are singing to make following along easier.
